NeVLAT
The Dutch Society of Alexander Technique Teachers (Nederlandse Vereniging van Leraren in de Alexander Techniek or NeVLAT).
NeVLAT was established in 1996 and works in cooperation with 15 Affiliated Societies in 15 different countries. It currently has 70 members.
NeVLAT is a continually evolving professional organisation, responsible for regulating the profession of Alexander Technique teacher in the Netherlands. Its Constitution is available on request.
NeVLAT attaches great importance to maintaining high quality standards in the profession.
NeVLAT works to increase the visibility and understanding of the Technique.
NeVLAT publishes an official list of Alexander Technique teachers who are recognised and/or approved by NeVLAT and are currently signed up members. All have met as a minimum, the following requirements:
- They have completed their studies at an approved teacher training course recognised by the Affiliated Societies. Training to be an Alexander Technique teacher takes three years and consists of at least 1600 total hours of study. There are international agreements covering other requirements (outlined in NeVLAT's Constitution).
- They have agreed to abide by NeVLAT's Code of Professional Conduct (available on request from NeVLAT).
- They are covered by professional liability insurance.
NeVLAT encourages its members to continue to develop their skills and expertise and to stay up to date with developments in the field.
NeVLAT continues to develop its quality control procedures.
